ArtSite Network
Create a teaching museum filled with worldwide art and student portfolios. ArtSite  turns your school or district network into a dynamic teaching resource filled with art and writing shared by teachers and students.

Build an unlimited museum filled with free images and descriptions you select from museum websites or print resources. Include project ideas to inspire students to contribute their own collections of art to the ArtSite Gallery or to display studio projects in the ArtSite Portfolio.

Create a learning environment which combines curiosity, creativity, a world view of history and civilization, and critical thinking and writing skills. For Mac and Windows, grades 1 through College
Take a tour of ArtSite

• ArtSite starts you off with over 120 Museum pages organized into 11 collections. Each page features an image and description as well as a few related project suggestions. (a total of over 300 project ideas) Teachers can contribute an unlimited number of Museum pages organized by an unlimited number of collections. It's easy to add, change, and delete Museum pages.

All of the teachers who share your classroom can contribute to the shared Museum or each teacher can create individual collections which are only viewable by their own students.

• ArtSite supports standards 3, 4, and 5 of the K-12 National Standards for Visual Arts Education:
Grades K-4, Grades 5-8, Grades 9-12

. • Log in to password protected teachers pages where you can customize ArtSite to match your teaching goals. Add, delete, or change museum pages, collection names, web search categories, and web site links. Teachers individually manage their own curriculum content and student records.

• Students contribute to the Gallery by exploring the ArtSite Museum and then writing a description or interpretation of the art on display. Students can also research Internet websites or print sources and add new images and descriptions. The Gallery is searchable by art collection, class name, and student name and can be viewed by all students and teachers.

New! The ArtBlog gives students the opportunity to write comments on Gallery pages. Teachers must approve all comments before they are posted. This feature can be turned on or off for each class. (The Artblog is included on all Windows versions and Mac OSX 10.4 or higher.)

• Students contribute studio art to form the ArtSite Portfolio, a searchable gallery of student art. Under each image, students write a description, interpretation, or include their creative writing. Teachers can save the best Portfolio pages from each year to inspire new students. The Portfolio is searchable by academic year, class name, student name, teacher name, grade level, and media and can be viewed by all students and teachers.

• If an Internet connection is available, teachers can guide students to useful websites with ArtSearch, a teacher customized Internet search engine. ArtSite starts you off with 50 museum website links.

How-to movies and a teacher's guide make it easy for teachers and students to learn how to use ArtSite. All pages are printable for grading and sharing.
